Boot Stretching

Modern day skates feel pretty great out of the box, but in order to get a near custom fit, Willies also offer a boot stretching and punching service for both figure and Ice Hockey Skates.

Sometimes boots may be a little uncomfortable or have pressure points particularly around the ankles or the ball of the foot.

Our specialist equipment allows us to stretch and manipulate the boots to provide a more personalised/ custom fit.

This service costs £10.00 per skate.

BOOT STRETCHING FAQS

What does the boot stretching service include?

Willies’ technicians use specialist stretching tools to gently widen or spot‑stretch figure boots, relieving pressure points and improving overall comfort

What areas of the boot can be stretched?

Common stretch points include the toe box, forefoot, instep, and ankle areas, depending on where the skater feels discomfort.

Can stretching help with pain or pressure points?

Definitely — stretching is ideal for reducing toe pressure, bunion discomfort, tight insteps, or rubbing around the ankle, helping skaters train more comfortably.

What is skate punching?

Skate punching is a targeted stretching process where technicians use a punch tool to create extra space in specific areas of a hockey boot, relieving pressure and improving comfort.

Will punching damage my hockey skates?

Not when done professionally.

Willies uses specialist punching tools designed to reshape the boot without compromising its structure or durability.
