  • WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ICE HOCKEY SKATES & INLINE HOCKEY SKATES?

    Aside from the obvious — that an ice skate has a blade and an inline skate has wheels, roller hockey skates also have a softer boot, as inline hockey players need more boot flex than ice hockey players.

  • WHAT ARE THE BEST SKATES FOR BEGINNERS?

    If you’re new to roller hockey, you want to look for a recreational-level skate with a softer boot to help you stay more comfortable while learning your skating stride.

     

    A great starter skate is the Bauer RS — they come with outdoor wheels, so they’re ideal for street hockey. The Bauer RSX is another excellent option for beginners, coming with an indoor wheel for skating on an indoor surface.

  • WHAT SIZE INLINE HOCKEY SKATE SHOULD I GET?

    Fitting inline skates is often an imperfect science, as each player’s foot is unique. A general guide for fitting roller hockey skates is to go for a size down from your regular shoe size — they should feel snug but not uncomfortably tight! Roller hockey skates come in a range of sizes and volumes, so you can find the perfect fit to complement your game. 

     

    For junior players, we typically recommend inline skates the same as their shoe size to leave a little growing room, but it’s better to have a pair of comfortable skates for a shorter time rather than stumbling around in ill-fitting skates.
